Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone was born on the 16th of August 1958 in Bay City, Michigan, near Detroit. Since her mother's sad death when she was only five years old, Madonna had to learn from a young age to adapt to whatever life put in front of her. Coping with a great deal of responsibility at home, Madonna took on a mothering role to her brothers and sisters thus giving her a strong determination to succeed at not only performing, but at being a loving mother also. She had one important aim in life and that was to be famous. Her moment came in 1984, with the release of her second album 'Like a Virgin'. The following year she married actor, Sean Penn, sadly to be divorced four years later.

Son, Rocco Ritchie, born on the 11th of August 2000, is also the proud son of husband Guy Ritchie.
