TAJROBEH

Mahmad, a boy of fourteen, runs errands for a photographyshop where he is permitted to sleep. From a distance he pines for a youngmiddle-class girl who lives in a well-to-do neighborhood at the other end ofTeheran. One day, he thinks he detects on her face an encouraging gaze. Thisprompts Mahmad to go the next day and offer his services at the young girl'shome. He is left hopeful. That evening, the answer comes: a definite no.
